If you or someone you love is looking for local services, ranging from food pantries to rent or utilities assistance, we recommend you dial 2-1-1. 2-1-1 is a free, phone-based assistance line connects you with a live representative who will help you locate the services you need. 211 is sponsored locally by United Way of Kankakee and Iroquois Counties and AMITA Health St. Mary's Hospital.

For parents and caregivers of children, from prenatally through age 8, United Way of Kankakee and Iroquois Counties has teamed up with Bright by Text to send free activities, games, and resources right to your cell phone. Messages are targeted to your child's age and include information on child development, language and early literacy, health and safety, behavioral tips, and more.

United Way of Kankakee and Iroquois Counties partners with SingleCare (formerly FamilyWize) to provide community members with access to affordable prescription medications, ensuring greater health and financial stability. This service is free for everyone, regardless of income level or insurance status.
