The United Way of Kankakee County is a proud partner with the United Way of Illinois. This is a is an association of United Ways representing communities across Illinois.

The mission is as follows: United Way of Illinois monitors activity of government, reviews legislation, and educates both the public and our public officials related to their impact on human services and on our local communities.

Representing the United Way of Kankakee County on the United Way of Illinois Board of Directors are Steve Baker, from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, and Greg Carrell, Executive Director of the United Way of Kankakee County.
