UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN KICK-OFF

The

United Way
of Kankakee County would like to thank the community for their terrific support of the 2010 Campaign Kick-Off. Special thanks goes to all who attended the Montgomery Gentry concert, the many volunteers, sponsors, partner agencies, concert producer, Hidden Cove Sportsplex, Jason and the Haymakers, Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry of Montgomery Gentry and their band. United Way is pleased to have brought this level of entertainment to the area.

United Way also thanks the community for all of its feedback since the concert. There are some great suggestions for improvements. Over the next few weeks, we will meet with each of the concert’s partners to review the concerns, feedback and suggestions.

We greatly appreciate all of our donors who continually show they are dedicated and generous people. United Way’s annual donation campaign will remain the cornerstone of how we fund 46 programs within our 24 partner agencies. However, those programs and agencies are being strained and we recognize the need to develop creative and innovative ways to increase awareness and reach the 2010 campaign goal of $1,100,000. As long as there are needs in Kankakee County ,

United Way
is committed to meeting the challenge.

- CSL Behring Campaign

Congratulations to CSL Behring, last year's number one donor company, who has again raised an amazing gift for United Way of Kankakee County.  During the monthly Board of Directors meeting, Dale Rosene, CSL Staff Member and a United Way of Kankakee County Board Member, announced CSL's United Way Campaign total for the 2009-2010 drive: $136,269.31!

The announcement was followed with applause and cheers for CSL Behring.  United Way Board President, Don Clark, commented "AMAZING!".

With only 2 months left in the 2009-2010 United Way Campaign, it appears as though CSL may be the top donor company again this year.  However, with a goal of $1,200,000.00 we are still working very hard to achieve that goal and welcome any company willing to contribute...or better yet strive to match the incredible work of CSL Behring and their wonderful employees.
GREAT WORK CSL!

Currently, the campaign pledge total stands at $644,069.99, which is above the half-way mark and rising!

To donate or learn more, please call the United Way of Kankakee County office at 815-932-7476 or email Greg Carrell, Executive Director, at GCarrell@MyUnitedWay.org.

A big thank you to each and every person who has contributed this year; the campaign successs lies in each and every one of you!
