UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN KICK-OFF

The

United Way
of Kankakee County would like to thank the community for their terrific support of the 2010 Campaign Kick-Off. Special thanks goes to all who attended the Montgomery Gentry concert, the many volunteers, sponsors, partner agencies, concert producer, Hidden Cove Sportsplex, Jason and the Haymakers, Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry of Montgomery Gentry and their band. United Way is pleased to have brought this level of entertainment to the area.

United Way also thanks the community for all of its feedback since the concert. There are some great suggestions for improvements. Over the next few weeks, we will meet with each of the concert’s partners to review the concerns, feedback and suggestions.

We greatly appreciate all of our donors who continually show they are dedicated and generous people. United Way’s annual donation campaign will remain the cornerstone of how we fund 46 programs within our 24 partner agencies. However, those programs and agencies are being strained and we recognize the need to develop creative and innovative ways to increase awareness and reach the 2010 campaign goal of $1,100,000. As long as there are needs in Kankakee County ,

United Way
is committed to meeting the challenge.

- Happy St. Patrick's Day

First and foremost, I want to thank the many donors that make the United Way campaign possible every year, those in Kankakee County, Iroquois County and others designating back to their hometown community.  You all have made this year’s campaign a priority in your lives again.  We have seen a challenging year, but many people have accepted the challenge and said “I will not forget those who still need help!”   This is a time that we all need to remember “to much that is given, much is expected!”, as we bring the 2008-2009 Campaign to a close, we all have much to be thankful for.

During “some of the most desperate times of our nation’s recent history”, United Way of Kankakee County will continue to provide solutions to the needs of our community.  If you have not taken a moment this year to consider a gift to our campaign, please do so before March 26th, because we cannot provide those solutions without you!  On September 5th, 2008 we began to LIVE UNITED in Kankakee and Iroquois Counties and we have not stopped.  Please help me to keep our mission alive.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
